I was born and raised in south central Pennsylvania; graduated from Shippensburg State University. My professional life began nearby, as a Middle and High School Life Science and Chemistry teacher. Teaching provided a great platform for me to hone my project management and negotiation skills. After several years, I moved west and became a negotiator and grant manager in the US Environmental Protection Agency, first in Dallas TX, then in San Francisco. That expertise lead me to an offer to join an environmental engineering firm in the San Francisco Bay Area. After several years as a project manager and member of the management team in that firm, I got married. Then, after my husband Dwight and I had our two children, I decided to leave and founded Turner/Maclane Environmental Consulting, a woman-owned environmental management and regulatory compliance consulting firm. Managing Turner/Maclane and leading projects and negotiations for numerous Fortune 50 corporations and major law firm clients lead to a job offer from Chevron Corporation. At Chevron, I was offered various positions and management roles, many of which were to lead and/or work on, enterprise wide projects and corporate purchase and sales transactions around the globe. I left Chevron in late 2020 and have been volunteering with two non-profit organizations (Impact 100 East Bay and the Oakland White Elephant Sale), advising the founders of two East Bay start up non-profit organizations and traveling the US and the world with, or to see, family and friends.
